One of the aspects of flower essences that I appreciate the most is how safe they can be, due to the method of preparation and dilution. They are SAFE.
So working with the Master Plants (plants that tend to significantly alter us mentally and physically) in this way can be incredible profound yet gentle and integrateable.
Master Plants such as Kaapi, Chakruna, Tobacco, Brugmansia, Chiric sanango, Ayahuma, Datura, Kanabis etc are indeed medicinal but can be dangerous when worked with without a skilled guide and teacher present.
The more gentle Master Plants such as Cacao, Tea, and Coffee seem to be over relied upon thus creating over dependent relationships with their energetics. So working with these as essences can bring us back into balance with these plants. The common theme with all of them is that they are largely exploited, damaging precious ecosystems in the process of extraction without reciprocity. Essences allow us opportunity to commune without mass harvesting of plants. I only harvest the appropriate amount of flowers to cover the water surface and then that is preserved and diluted for distributing.
Flower Essences are accessible! Not everyone has the means to travel to experience the plants in person, in their native ranges or partake in a traditional ceremonial containers in their bioregions. Their essences contain their spirit and thus can be communed with in a healthy way.
Something else we see with said Master Plants is the use without a ceremonial container or even given important cultural context. We all know about the new age shamans are modern day self acclaimed witches conducting questionable hodgepodge ceremonies for their own material gain. This exploits people and plants.
Working with flower essences offers so many benefits - mind, body, spirit, land, and relational.
It’s clear that the Master Plants have come to global recognition at this time to HELP us but that doesn’t mean there aren’t people that will try to infiltrate that mission. I believe working with their essences can help us to ground into our selves and their mission as well.
